Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed admiration for Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo’s versatility, describing the Black Stars attacker as a valuable asset capable of excelling in multiple attacking roles.

Since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, Semenyo has been deployed across the front line — featuring as a central striker, on both wings, and occasionally in an attacking midfield position. His adaptability has provided Guardiola with significant tactical flexibility in different match situations.

Speaking to the media, the Spanish tactician highlighted the qualities that make Semenyo effective regardless of position, pointing to his pace, work rate, defensive discipline, and ability to take on defenders in one-on-one situations.

“It’s not a secret. Sometimes you make a player play in a position that requires certain attributes, and he has them. So it’s not more complicated than that,” Guardiola said.

He added that Semenyo’s awareness in the box and instinct for goal make him particularly dangerous during chaotic attacking moments.

“If you need an attacking midfielder or someone to turn and attack the central defender, he has that attribute. To play right, left, both sides, he can do it. As a striker in behind, he can do it,” Guardiola noted.

“He has incredible skills to do that. And he’s so open-minded, so generous in his effort. When he jumps, the pace he does it with is unbelievable. He also has an incredible sense of goal. These types of balls in the box, the second balls, the chaos, he’s always there.”

Guardiola’s praise underlines Semenyo’s growing importance in City’s attacking setup, with the Ghana international continuing to impress through his flexibility, energy, and sharp finishing abilit
