Pearl Pia Ladies rebrand as Northern City Ladies ahead of WPL return

Pearl Pia Ladies FC have officially rebranded to Northern City Ladies Football Club, marking a bold new era ahead of the 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League season.

Founded in 2006, the club has battled through ups and downs including relegation from the top flight two seasons ago.

But after winning the Northern Regional Division One League and excelling at the 2024/25 GFA Zonal Championship in Wa, they earned promotion back to the WPL alongside Ashtown Ladies.

The rebrand comes as part of a strategic merger with Division One men’s side Northern City FC, establishing a united front for Tamale football.

Armed with a new identity and a fierce ambition, Northern City Ladies are ready to shake up the women’s league in 2025/26.
