Pay attention to Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium – Karela United bankroller tells Sports Minister

The owner of Karela United, Haruna Iddrisu has bemoaned the state of the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.

The Stadium is currently unable to host Ghana Premier League matches due to the deteriorated state of the football pitch.

According to Haruna Iddrisu, this is making things very difficult for his club Karela United.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, the Karela United bankroller called on Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif to pay attention to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

“I’m struggling now to even get stadium for training and even for my matches. This weekend I’m playing the Porcupine Warriors (Kotoko). I have sent them to Nalerigu and they have already protested that the standard of the pitch is not good.

“Minister, pay particular attention to the Tamale Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. It is a site that is in a deteriorated position,” Haruna Iddrisu said.

The game between Karela United and Asante Kotoko is scheduled to be played on Sunday, March 10.
