Defender Paul Appiah has reacted to Leicester City’s defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday in the Football League Trophy.

Callum Patterson and Will Trueman scored for Sheffield Wednesday. Appiah 20, played full throttle for the Foxes in the crucial encounter.

Speaking to LCFC TV after the game Appiah said

“We knew it was going to be a tough game obviously in this type of competition we take experience and anything else from the game. We had our battle but unfortunately today we didn’t take our chances but we go again,”

“We were very disappointed because I feel we were getting to have our foot on the game I felt we had our chances we were really getting confidence starting to play out a bit more but it was unfortunate. We tried to get out of it but we were just unlucky,”

“100% coming from the Bradford game and going down we felt we have been in this before so it wasn’t something we are not new to in our heads but it’s just unfortunate we couldn’t do it on the pitch. It is a good experience playing down here we don’t get much pitches like this we don’t get much experience done this. It was very good for us to come here we had a lot of young players, first-year scholars, second-year scholars so it was good.

“Coming against the senior team it’s a different style of play a lot more aggression a lot more long balls it is more of a battle I feel it is worked of the pitch. I feel in this type of games it is a good experience for us so that we learn and take it back to our PL2 games. Obviously positive we are going to take a lots from here and going to that game (Arsenal) be positive and make sure we get the W make sure we win,”
