The Argentinian top flight action continues on onday afternoon with this upcoming tussle between the 22nd placed hosts, Patronato, and their 5th placed visitors, Independiente, when the two teams meet at the Estadio Presbítero Bartolomé Grella.
It’s been a difficult start this 2nd phase of the Argentinian top flight season for Patronato who have managed to win just one of their opening four games and this has been on the back of a particularly disappointing 1st phase campaign which resulted with Patronato finishing bottom of Group A with just 10 points to their name.

The disappointing theme has continued into this second stage as Patronato have already slipped to defeats against Gimnasia La Plata and Sarmiento, whilst their singular success in recent times came in the form of a 1-0 home win against Aldosivi.
The bigger picture also underlines Patronato’s difficulties in picking up wins in the Liga Profesional as the hosts have managed just two victories out of their last 10 matches, while also suffering a total of seven losses within this period.
Patronato have also won just two of their last 11 home games as well.
By contrast, high-flying Independiente have enjoyed an improved run of results in the early stages of this 2nd phase as the visitors have won two, drawn one and lost one of their opening four games, and they will be in confident mood as they hit the road on Monday afternoon.
A 1-1 draw away from home at San Lorenzo has been followed by wins registered against Talleres de Cordoba and Estudiantes while their one slip-up in this 2nd stage came in the shape of a 2-1 loss at Argentinos Juniors.
The visitors look far better equipped to achieve a result here on Monday afternoon than their lowly hosts as the bigger picture shows that they have been handed just three defeats out of their last 11 matches overall in the domestic top flight and they also hold a good head-to-head record against Patronato in previous exchanges as well.
Independiente have won three out of the previous four meetings against Patronato and perhaps more telling, all three of these victories were achieved away from home at the Estadio Presbítero Bartolomé Grella, so the visitors look in good shape to add to their points tally here.
