The Ghana right-back had two good seasons under Hodgson when he played as a regular at Fulham after spending two years just warming the bench at West Ham.
Paintsil is sad to see Hodgson head to Liverpool now and reckons for all the players at Fulham it is time to start afresh again.
“I had two very good seasons under him and so it is sad to see him leave. He is a really good manager and I have no doubt he will do well at Liverpool,” he tells KickOffGhana.com.
Painstil has no clue who his next boss will be, but he is convinced about what that will mean for everyone in the side.
“For all of us we will have to justify ourselves to the new manager. When a new man arrives there is always uncertainty amongst the players. He may have his favourites from watching the team in the past, an idea of the players he will want to work with and naturally some of those in already will take the hit. But it will be up to me to work hard and convince that I can still play a part for the club.”
