Owner of Division One side PAC Academy FC, Inusah Ahmed has been arrested by INTERPOL and the FBI for alleged involvement in internet fraud.
Ahmed was detained alongside three others – Isaac Oduro Boateng, Derrick Van Yeboah, and Patrick Kwame Asare – in a joint operation. The four suspects are currently in custody, facing extradition proceedings to the United States to stand trial.
The arrests resulted from months of intelligence sharing between Ghanaian security agencies and international partners.
The suspects are believed to be part of a large cybercrime network that scammed victims globally through online schemes.
The news has shocked the Ghanaian football community, particularly in the Ashanti Region, where PAC Academy FC is based.Although the full list of charges is yet to be disclosed, the case is expected to involve serious federal crimes, including wire fraud, identity theft, and money laundering. The incident has raised concerns about the involvement of prominent individuals in illicit activities and the need for increased vigilance in the fight against cybercrime. The outcome of the trial will likely have significant implications for the suspects and the football club.
