Over 2.5 Goals
Nottingham Forest have failed to score in their last three games in all competitions, losing each game 1-0.
Looking at the bigger picture, however, Forest have been amongst the goals since Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment just before Christmas and there is every chance that there will be plenty of goals on Saturday afternoon. The away side have scored 17 goals in their previous nine league games under Santo and have conceded a total of 22 goals in 11 league games under the Portuguese manager.
Luton, meanwhile, have scored and conceded in each of their last seven league games, most notably blowing a three-goal lead at Bournemouth on Wednesday. They have scored 10 and conceding 11 in their last five home games, with all signs pointing towards a high-scoring affair for Saturday’s relegation six-pointer.
The sides produced a hugely entertaining 2-2 draw at the City Ground earlier in the season and there is every chance of a similar scoreline on Saturday afternoon.
Nottingham Forest to Receive the Most Cards
Forest and Luton may sit side-by-side in the Premier League table, but a gulf exists between them in the league’s disciplinary charts. Luton boast the second-best disciplinary record in England, receiving 53 bookings and no red cards after 28 games.
Forest, on the other hand, are in 12th place in the league’s disciplinary table, picking up 62 bookings and three red cards this season. Playing away from home in a relegation six-pointer, they are good value to pick up the most cards at Kenilworth Road this weekend.
Both Teams to Score
Burnley’s slim hopes of survival suffered another blow on Sunday when they blew a 2-0 lead at West Ham and had to settle for a share of the spoils. The Clarets could never have really expected to hold out considering it is now 10 league games since their last clean sheet, which came at Fulham before Christmas.
They have conceded 26 goals in that 10-game spell and have conceded a whopping 62 goals in 28 league games this season.
Brentford, meanwhile, have kept just one league clean sheet in their last 18 games, conceding 40 goals in that period. They have conceded 52 league goals all season and are hardly more defensively watertight than their opponents on Saturday. Both teams will fancy their chances of scoring.
Ivan Toney to have 2 or more Shots on Target
Ivan Toney came mightily close to scoring an outrageous goal in Brentford’s narrow defeat against Arsenal last week only to be denied by Aaron Ramsdale.
Toney has made a decent start to life after his suspension, scoring four times in nine games, although he is without a goal in any of his last four appearances and will be desperate to end that run against such a defensively porous Burnley side.
Toney averages 2.8 shots per game in his nine Premier League appearances this season – the highest average of any Brentford player. Considering he is facing a Burnley side that faces an average of over 15 shots per game, there is every chance that he will better that average on Saturday afternoon. He is decent value to hit the target at least twice.
David Datro Fofana to Commit 2 or more Fouls
David Datro Fofana scored an outrageous goal in Burnley’s 2-2 draw at West Ham last weekend and has been generally impressive since moving to Burnley on loan in the January transfer window. The Chelsea loanee has scored three goals in five league starts for Burnley as well as registering an assist.
However, he also has a tendency to commit a foul or two. Fofana’s average of 1.7 fouls per game is the second-highest in the Burnley squad and also averaged a foul per game during his spell at Union Berlin earlier in the season. The Ivorian could easily commit at least two fouls on Saturday afternoon.
