Otto Addo will get his tactics right before World Cup – Asamoah Gyan

Former Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan believes head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, will get his tactics right ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Addo, 44, has come under intense pressure following Ghana’s friendly games against Brazil and Nicaragua.

The Black Stars suffered a 3-0 defeat in their first September friendly before beating 139th-ranked Nicaragua by 1-0 in their final game held in Spain.

The team’s set-up and the tactics in both games have been questioned by several Ghanaian football fans.

And with less than two months to the start of the Mundial in Qatar, Gyan, who played in the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups believes Addo and his technical team will get their tactics right before the start of the tournament.

“In football when you suffer defeat, everyone will have their opinion,” he told Kumasi-based Kessben FM.

“The first half against Brazil was not good but the second half was much better and he did the changes to avoid humiliation.

“He will keep trying and I believe before the World Cup start, Otto Addo will get his tactics right,” he added.

Ghana will take on Switzerland in their final game before the start of the global showpiece in Qatar in November.

The Black Stars have been housed in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.

The 22nd edition of the World Cup will kick off from November 20 to December 18.
