Following Ghana’s early elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, coach Otto Addo has reunited with his wife and children in Germany.
The 47-year-old announced his resignation as head coach after losing to Uruguay 2-0 in their last group H encounter.
Ghana finished last at the bottom, having won one match out of three.
Ghana must work rapidly to appoint a new coach before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
Addo took over from Milovan Rajevac, initially as interim boss, and was given a contract that would last until the end of December.
During his tenure with the Black Stars, he picked up four victories, two of which came in competitive matches against South Korea and Madagascar. The other two came in friendly matches against Nicaragua and Switzerland.
He orchestrated Ghana’s victory over Nigeria in March for a slot at the World Cup.
