Ghana’s national team head coach, Otto Addo, has announced a 26-man squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda.
The squad includes five debutants who have earned their call-ups based on their impressive performances for their respective clubs.
The newcomers to the squad are David Akologo, who plays in Bolivia, Ibrahim Osman from Nordsjaelland in Denmark, Nathaniel Adjei based in France, Diomande Mohammed representing Rangers in Scotland, and Frederick Asare from Asante Kotoko.
These players have caught the attention of Coach Otto Addo with their stellar displays, earning their first call-ups to the senior national team. Their inclusion marks the beginning of a new era under Coach Addo’s leadership.
Additionally, Tariq Lamptey, the talented right-back from Brighton and Hove Albion, returns to the squad after recovering from an injury that sidelined him during the Africa Cup of Nations.
The squad also sees the return of familiar faces such as captain Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Osman Bukari, Samed Abdul Samed, and Elisha Owusu.
The friendly matches, scheduled to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, will provide an opportunity for Coach Otto Addo to assess his squad and lay down the groundwork for future competitions.
Ghana will first face Nigeria on Friday, March 22, followed by a clash against Uganda four days later. These matches will serve as important preparation for the team as they look to build cohesion and form ahead of upcoming tournaments.
