Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is refusing to get carried away despite Ghana sitting top of Group I in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with 15 points.

The team is preparing to face Chad, the bottom side in the group, in their next fixture at the newly built Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby in N’Djaména.

Speaking to Max TV during a scouting mission at the Nsekyire Stadium, Addo stressed the importance of focus and consistency.

“We need to progress gradually. We are not there yet,” he said. “We must focus on the Chad game and hope that we can win it.”

Ghana will also meet Mali in the upcoming round of qualifiers as they aim to strengthen their grip on top spot.
