Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif has endorsed Ghana Football Association’s appointment of Otto Addo as the headcoach of Black Stars.
The country’s football governing body renamed the former Ghana international as the trainer after the sack of Chris Hughton following the team’s disappointing performance at the Africa Cup 2023 in Ivory Coast.
The fomer Borussia Dortmund talent coach inked a long-term contract with the Ghana FA, initially for 34 months with an option for an additional two years.
“Otto Addo is an excellent coach, the Football Association have a jurisdiction in terms of selection of coach. And they have gone through their processes of getting us a coach and they decided that Otto Addo is the right man for the job after they have interviewed good number of coaches. Government support the decision of the Football Association,” Ussif told Starr103.5FM
Otto Addo will guide the four-time Africa Champions will engage the Super Eagles of Nigeria in an international friendly game on Friday at 4pm.
The match is expected to be played at the Grande de Stade Marrakesh in Morocco.
