Osman Bukari shines as Austin FC see off Houston Dynamo in MLS Cup

Ghana’s Osman Bukari was the standout performer on Wednesday night as Austin FC secured a 3-1 win over Houston Dynamo to reach the quarterfinals of the MLS Cup.

The 25-year-old forward scored from the penalty spot to register his second goal of the season and later assisted Ilie Sanchez for Austin’s third goal.

Brandon Vazquez had earlier opened the scoring for Austin in the 29th minute. After the break, a handball by Houston’s Franco Escobar gifted Austin a penalty, which Bukari calmly slotted into the bottom corner.

Moments later, Bukari turned creator, delivering a perfect assist for Sanchez to make it 3-0. The visitors pulled one back in the 70th minute, but Austin held on to seal the victory.

Bukari now has two goal contributions in the MLS Cup so far this season
