Asante Kotoko legend Opoku Nti has backed the club’s decision to sack coach Prosper Nartey Ogum, citing the timing as appropriate.
Ogum’s dismissal followed a four-match winless run, which ended with the arrival of new coach Karim Zito, who led the team to a 1-0 win over Aduana FC.
“I believe the timing was right. We had about six matches left before Zito arrived now it’s five and I think it was the correct decision”
“The way Kotoko was playing match after match something wasn’t clicking. It’s better to sacrifice one individual than risk the entire team falling apart”
Kotoko sit fourth on the table with 50 points ahead of the super clash against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
