Asante Kotoko snapped a four-game winless streak with a narrow 1-0 victory over Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The encounter was fiercely contested and physically intense, with chances hard to come by. Kwame Opoku emerged as the hero for the Porcupine Warriors, converting a close-range finish after Dreams’ defence failed to clear their lines. Opoku had earlier squandered a promising opportunity but made amends with a composed left-footed strike past goalkeeper Osman Rahman.

Dreams FC threatened a late equaliser, with a close-range effort cleared off the line, but Kotoko held firm, showing resilience and composure to protect their slender lead. Both teams ended the match visibly fatigued, reflecting the high intensity of the contest.

The match also featured a notable gesture of respect, as Kotoko head coach Karim Zito and Dreams FC coach Wilfred Dormon shared a warm embrace at full time.

Kotoko enjoyed a slight edge in possession, though both sides matched each other in shots on target. The win lifts Kotoko to third place on the Ghana Premier League table, while Dreams FC slide back into the relegation zone.
