Okwawu United FC’s Access Bank Division One League Matchday 21 mid-week game against Uncle T’ United FC on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, will be played behind closed doors at the Akim Tafo Rovers Park.
This follows the decision of the GFA Disciplinary Committee dated April 4, 2024, which ordered Okwawu United FC to play its next home match behind closed doors.
Okwawu United FC was sanctioned by the Disciplinary Committee after supporters of the club invaded the pitch during their Matchday 17 home game against Hohoe United FC. The club was also fined and warned that any further misconduct would result in severe sanctions.
In view of this, the Competitions Department of the GFA has issued the following directives for the Matchday 21 encounter against Uncle T United FC:
1. Only players and officials selected for the match shall be allowed to the stadium.
2. In addition, each club shall be allowed only Five (5) officials at the VIP.
3. In addition to the Players and officials, only other stakeholders would be allowed at the stadium, such as match officials, ball boys, security, medics, etc.
The club has been cautioned that failure to adhere to the above-mentioned instructions would attract further charges by the GFA Prosecutors.
