Ghana international, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has finally completed his switch to SC Freiburg in the German Bundesliga.
The Brazilians of Breisgau will reportedly compensate second-tier side, FC St. Pauli, with a transfer fee of 4.5 million euros in exchange for the economic rights of the attacking midfielder.
In an official announcement Monday evening, Freiburg did not provide any information about the length of the contract signed with the 26-year-old who has featured 12 times for the Black Stars.
It will be first-time topflight football for Kyereh whose new owners will also be campaigning in the Europa League in the upcoming 2022/23 season.
“I’m impressed by SC Freiburg’s style of play, character and development.
“I have therefore decided with full conviction to become part of this team and I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming games in the Bundesliga and Europa League,” Kyereh – who scored 12 goals and racked up 10 assists last season in the second division – said in his first interview.

“Kofi has exceptional creativity with the ball, has an intelligent game, and is highly determined.” SCF board member Jochen Saier noted in a statement accompanying the signing,
“He is a player who has developed step-by-step over the past few years and has adapted quickly to the higher level in every instance. Kofi still has potential and his game can become even more complete – we will work on that together.”
