The Serbian is due back in Accra for a meeting with the GFA on Tuesday as the long drawn-out drama over his future continues after Ghana’s semi-final finish at the Nations Cup.
Widespread media reports say the Serbian has been given the sack and kickoffGhana understands that indeed that was the recommendation from the meeting of the 22-member executive committee in Accra on Thursday.
But GFA president Nyantekyie says a final decision will only be made after the meeting with Stevanovic. “It has become important to meet the coach again on some issues that have come up; a lot of concerns have been expressed about the work culture and ethics of the coach so we need to sit down with him and after that we will have an informed position which will be communicated,” said Nyantakyi.
“I believe next week all these issues will be resolved because we need to take a position not beyond next week.”
Stevanovic has a year left on his current deal which will expire in February 2013.
