Ghana’s Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, has expressed deep concern for the Black Queens’ safety in the Pink Ladies Cup amidst escalating Middle East tensions.
“No human being will be okay in such environment, not even soldiers,” Adams stated while speaking to Citi Sports, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
“As a lay man I would have wished we stopped the competition,” he added, highlighting the need to prioritize the team’s safety.
The minister’s comments come as the team remains confined to their hotel due to airspace closures and flight cancellations.
Adams stressed that the government’s priority is ensuring the team’s safe return, with the Ghana Football Association working closely with authorities.
The Black Queens are set to face Russia on Tuesday despite fears.
