Former Ghana Football Association President Kwasi Nyantakyi has labelled the most media reportage about his administration as inaccurate during his stint as the head of country’s football governing body.
The pperception of corruption was predominant under his stewardship which led to an investigative piece by journalist Anas Armeyaw Anas dubbed ‘number 12’.
The video captured Nyantakyi engaged in act of receiving cash from a made-up Arab business man purported to be keen on investing in the Ghana Premier League.
“Not all media reports are accurate, some are sponsored by opponents to bring others down,” Nyantakyi told Star FM.
“There were no receipts, yet I was victimized, defamed, dragged on the streets and disgraced.” He added.
Nyantakyi led the Association from 2005 to June 2018,
He is the longest serving President in the history of the country.
Under his leadership Ghana made three consecutive appearance at the World Cup stage and seven AFCONs.
