Noah Nartey has received a nomination for the Ligue 1 Young Talent of the Month award for February after making a strong start to life with Olympique Lyonnais.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder joined Lyon from Brøndby IF during the January transfer window and has quickly made an impression since arriving in France.
His performances at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais have attracted attention from fans and analysts, with the young midfielder already establishing himself as an exciting talent in the French top flight.
Nartey’s early impact has not gone unnoticed, as he has been shortlisted for the monthly young player recognition in Ligue 1.
The Ghana-eligible midfielder will compete for the award alongside Mahamadou Nagida of Stade Rennais FC and Kevin Danois of AJ Auxerre.
Since arriving at Lyon, Nartey has quickly become involved in the team’s attacking play. In the early stages of the 2025/26 campaign, he has made six appearances for the club, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Those contributions have helped underline his ability to influence matches from midfield and explain why he is already being considered among the promising young players in the league.
The midfielder’s performances have also drawn attention internationally, particularly from Ghana Football Association, which is reportedly monitoring his progress ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With eligibility to represent Ghana, discussions around his international future have become a topic of interest.
Despite that attention, Nartey has indicated that his current focus remains with the national team he has represented throughout his development years.
For now, the young midfielder appears determined to continue his journey with Denmark national football team while building his club career in France.
However, with his talent and performances attracting growing attention, his progress will likely remain closely watched by both Denmark and Ghana.
As the season continues, Nartey will be hoping to maintain his impressive form at Lyon while competing for the Ligue 1 Young Talent of the Month award and further establishing himself as one of the emerging midfielders in European football.
