No crisis at New Edubiase, insists club president Abdul Salam Yakubu

New Edubiase president Abdul Salam Yakubu has insisted there is no ‘crisis’ at the club, despite a run of two consecutive losses.

The Bekwai-based side have faced criticism from some quarters after their 2-0 defeat at All Stars, which followed a similar defeat against Hearts of Oak at home.

But the club’s chief Abdul Salam Yakubu says he’s confident the side will bounce back, starting with the game against champions Kotoko in Kumasi on Sunday.

“Scrutiny is normal. I have been in football for sometime so I have learned not to be surprised by scrutiny,” Salam Yakubu said

“It’s normal for our fans to criticize us. We’re worried with the turn of event but we have not given up hope at all.

“We have played only two games and so Edubiase will bounce back. For me it is not a crisis. It is two bad results.

“When you want to build something different and players are adapted, comfortable with philosophy for sometime it’s more difficult.

“But like I said, we’re just passing through a phase and everything will be well.”

Anthony Commey’s men will be eager to get back on track when they travel to Kumasi to face in-form Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
