No club has complained about BetPawa sponsorship apart from Karela Utd

Ghana Football Association Executive Council member Nana Oduro Sarfo has sharply denied reports claiming Ghana Premier League clubs are unhappy with the BetPawa deal.

Each of the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs will be entitled to a figure of around $25,000 from a publicised $2 million per season sponsorship announced by the Ghana FA last week.

Karela United CEO Elloeny Amande went public on the agreement and stated that the sponsorship wasn’t meant for clubs in the Ghanaian top-flight.

Amande’s criticism of the deal has drawn controversy around the package which has a pledge to invest $1 million into marketing and promotions.

However, reacting to the comments by the former broadcaster, the controversial administrator stated boldly that no club has complained about the deal apart from the Aiyinase-based club.

“No club has complained about the sponsorship package apart from Karela United,” he told Berekum-based Akwaaba Radio.

He further jabbed the well-articulated ex-Joy FM broadcast journalist who has now entered into mainstream football administration.

“Even, he never attended any of the two previous meetings with the clubs and was only around for the final meeting,” he added.

The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season is set to start on September 9, 2022.
