President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has stepped down as President of WAFU Zone B following his election to the CAF Executive Committee and appointment as Second Vice President.
In his stead, Nigeria Football Federation President Ibrahim Musa Gusau will take over.
WAFU B executives gathered in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, and elected Ibrahim Musa Gusau, President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), as their new leader. Gusau will serve as Acting President and oversee the upcoming U-20 AFCON qualifying championship in Ghana.
Gusau’s new role comes with significant responsibilities, including guiding WAFU B’s activities and ensuring the success of the U-20 AFCON qualifiers. Okraku’s departure marks a transition in leadership, and Gusau’s appointment is expected to bring new dynamics to the Union.
As Acting President, Gusau will work to promote football development in West Africa and strengthen ties among member countries. The U-20 AFCON qualifying championship will be a key test for Gusau’s leadership, and Ghana’s hosting of the event adds an extra layer of excitement. With Gusau at the helm, WAFU B is poised to tackle new challenges and opportunities in African football.
