Nico Williams has made his choice ; and it’s not Bayern Munich.
The 22-year-old Spanish winger has reportedly cut off all negotiations with the German champions in the last 48 hours, despite their strong interest. Instead, Williams is fully focused on a move to Barcelona.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Athletic Club star has agreed to a six-year deal with Barça, keeping him at Camp Nou until 2031. The transfer is expected to cost €63 million ; the value of his release clause with President Joan Laporta pushing to finalize the move swiftly.
Williams had already signaled his intent last week, reportedly agreeing to take a pay cut and rejecting a Premier League offer to join the Catalan giants.
Bayern, who saw him as a top target for their flanks, will now have to look elsewhere.
