Nico Williams breaks silence on international future

Athletic Bilbao youngster Nico Williams has said he will need more time to grow as a footballer to make a decision on which nation to represent between Ghana and Spain.

His senior brother, Iñaki recently made a decision to play for Ghana after many attempts to convince him since 2015 had failed.

Many believed Nico will be following the steps of his brother in announcing his international allegiance to Ghana immediately but the 20-year-old wing-forward is currently not thinking about that.

“I am so young at the moment and I’m focusing on myself, working hard.

“Whether it is Spain or Ghana [I don’t know yet]. I want to be the best and when the time comes, I will [make the decision],” Nico told 3Sports in an interview.

He went on to reveal his admiration for the Ghana senior national team.

“I have been watching the Black Stars. I always want to see them [play] and learn from them,” Nico stated.
