The 2023/24 Premier League season is not even at the halfway stage yet, but the futures of some top-flight managers look to already be in doubt.
We analyse the most likely managers to receive the boot next, as per the current betting market.

Steve Cooper – 4/6
With what seemed like an imminent sacking for Steve Cooper before the weekend’s result against Wolves, he currently leads the running as the next Premier League Manager to be sacked. His team managed to clinch a 1-1 draw against Wolves which allowed some breathing room for Cooper for the coming weeks, but his position at the club is still uncertain.
With a few tough fixtures ahead against the likes of Tottenham, Bournemouth, Newcastle, and Manchester United, Cooper’s Forest will need to show some real heart and pull out all the stops to secure some results in hope to retain their manager. However, Cooper is on thin ice and if he happens to pick up a couple of losses in these upcoming games, we could see the replacement rumours materialise.

Erik ten Hag – 6/4
There seemed to be murmurs of a title challenge around Old Trafford at the start of the season, with Dutch manager Erik ten Hag bringing a degree of stability and success not seen at Manchester United for many years after joining last summer.
However, United’s season is quickly beginning to unravel at an alarming rate. They have managed one win from five games in their Champions League campaign, leaving them bottom of Group A on four points, combined with a recent 3-0 Premier League defeat at Old Trafford against fourteenth-place Bournemouth, United are not where they thought they’d be at this stage in the season.
There have been some serious questions surrounding Ten Hag and his future at the club as he seems to have lost the passion from the players and, if nothing changes, the higher powers at United will have no choice but to have a serious think about what needs to change.
Roy Hodgson – 8/1
Palace too have been victims of Bournemouth’s recent surge in form, with a 2-0 defeat in early December. This has led to speculation surrounding Roy Hodgson’s position, having won just one of their last nine games, plummeting to fifteenth in the Premier League table.
With a 2-1 loss against Liverpool and a red card for Jordan Ayew, the next few fixtures are looking to be a real challenge for the team and the manager. Palace will face-off against Manchester City, followed by Brighton, and then Chelsea. If Hodgson can’t find a good run of form and extract some valuable points from the upcoming fixtures, at 8/1 he could find himself in some hot water.
Mauricio Pochettino – 10/1
Mauricio Pochettino and the Chelsea team have gone slightly under the radar, with the spotlight very much shining on Ten Hag this season, despite the Blues just winning five games from their opening sixteen fixtures so far in the Premier League. They currently sit twelfth in the Premier League, picking up just one win since their thrilling 4-4 draw to City a few weeks ago which has already been described as the best game of the season.
Although not leading the market, at 10/1, Pochettino is still in the danger zone, however his next five games look to be favourable to pick up some well-needed points. The first is against Sheffield United, who currently sit last in the Premier League table, which could be an opportunity to instil some confidence back into the players and the fans, or conversely could put the spotlight back on Poch should they make a mess of their upcoming fixtures.
Given the transfers and money the club has spent in recent years to no avail, most of the anger and frustration that Chelsea fans have are directed towards the higher powers within the club as Pochettino has proved himself to be capable of top-flight management. The manager will be hoping to start on the right foot come the New Year.
