Newcastle fans raise funds to help build new school in Ghana in honour of Christian Atsu

Newcastle United fans are raising funds online to build a school in Ghana in honour of Christian Atsu.

The former Black Stars winger was working towards building the school before he passed on during the recent earthquake that ravaged some parts of Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 06, 2023.

Fan group Talk of Tyneside have started a charity initiative to finish the school project in Atsu’s memory.

The Magpies paid a tribute to him during their Premier League match against Liverpool last weekend.

Atsu notably spent five years with Newcastle, where he was instrumental in the club’s promotion from the Championship and appeared 121 times in all competitions.
