Newcastle United are confident of sealing a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

The Englishman has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford due to lack of game time and according to Stretty, the keeper is ready to move if he cant be promised of a first-place between the sticks for United.

Henderson has made just three appearances in all competitions this season – one in each cup competition due to David de Gea’s tremendous form has despite signing a long-term contract in 2020.

The reports claim that the keeper is keen to be part of the England squad for their 2022 World Cup later this year and wants to play regularly to achieve this something that isn’t being guaranteed at Old Trafford.

Northern Echo further states that Eddie Howe has a desire to reshuffle his pack of goalkeepers and Henderson has emerged as the number one target for the position.

Newcastle were interested in the keeper in January but a deal didnt materialize as United was not keen on letting the player leave the club.

Incoming United manager Erik Ten Hag is said to be a fan of David de Gea and it remains to be seen which player he’d prefer between the sticks in the coming season.
