New Arsenal signing Fabio Vieira issues promise that fans will love

Arsenal’s latest addition Fabio Vieira has promised to work hard at his new club, following his 35m euro move to north London from Porto.

The 22-year-old midfielder has cut short his holiday to Mykonos in order to push through the deal, and has already undergone his medical at London Colney, with Porto having announced his departure on Friday.

And Vieira will sign a five year deal in north London, with a reported wage of £46k per week.

Now, speaking to the Mirror, Vieira has given his first comments as a new Arsenal player.

“I was always happy at Porto but this chance is important for any professional”, he claimed.

“Playing in the Premier League won’t be easy and I promise only to work, work, work”, he added. “My agent worked on the deal between the two clubs and I accepted the deal because it was important for all parties. I have always watched the Premier League on TV.”

What next for Arsenal

Multiple reports suggest that the fun won’t stop with Vieira for Arsenal fans, with Youri Tielemans, Gabriel Jesus and Raphinha all still possible.

They are also on the hunt for a left-sided centre-back and have already seen a bid turned down for Lisandro Martinez, with Ajax holding out for over 35m euros.

‘Signing him [Vieira] does not necessarily mean Arsenal will stop chasing other targets, or that Vieira’s arrival replaces others in their sights, such as Raphinha, Gabriel Jesus or Lisandro Martinez. Rather, they are keen to press on. The plan, ideally, is to recruit them all’, claim the Athletic.

Should they do so, it would be one of the best summer windows in the history of the club, and would hand them high hopes heading into next season.
