Morocco’s Nesryne El Chad emerged victorious in the Young Player of the Year (Women) at the 2023 CAF Awards, triumphing over Ghana’s emerging talent, Comfort Yeboah, and Nigeria’s Deborah Abiodun.
The awards ceremony, held on Monday, December 11, in Marrakech, Morocco, witnessed the unveiling of winners across various categories.
Despite missing out on the Young Player of the Year title, Comfort Yeboah’s nomination reflects her outstanding performances, drawing recognition within the football fraternity for her contributions to Ampem Darkoa Ladies in Ghana.
Comfort’s stellar season included pivotal roles in Ampem Darkoa’s triumphs, securing the domestic double – Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, Women’s FA Cup, and the WAFU Zone B Championship in Nigeria.
Her notable feat included scoring twice in Ampem Darkoa’s comeback victory against AS FAR Club and playing a crucial role in the club’s semifinal qualification in the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League in Cote D’Ivoire.
While Nesryne El Chad emerged as the recipient of the prestigious award, Comfort Yeboah’s journey continues to captivate the football world, marking her as one of Africa’s promising talents.
