Head Coach of Nations FC Kasim Mingle is left “sad” after his side failed to take their chances and lost concentration in their stalemate against Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.
The newly promoted club fought back to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw against the Porcupines at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday.
Mingle’s side took the lead after recess through Amidou Diarra on 50 minutes and maintained their lead until the 88th minute when Steven Mukwala restored parity for The Porcupine Warriors.
Kotoko then surged ahead in the 92nd minute, thanks to a goal from Michael Kyei Dwamena and believed that this late goal would secure them three points, but the drama was far from over. In the 104th minute, Diarra once again stepped up, this time converting a penalty to ensure that the spoils were equally shared.
“I am very sad. We should have won the game hands down,” Mingle said.
“Our boys lost concentration and they punished us with that. I told my them (his players) we are playing better than and we are creating all the chances so they push more forward and we can equalize and add another one to it.
Asante Kotoko will be against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on week 7 while Nations FC take on Medeama SC.
