CEO of Nations FC, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, has thrown his support behind the proposal to extend the GFA presidential term limit from two to three terms.
Speaking to journalist Nathan Quao, Boakye Ansah said there’s nothing wrong with current president Kurt Okraku seeking a third term, provided he wins through the democratic process.
“I don’t think it’s a bad idea for Kurt Okraku to have a third term. That is my personal opinion,” he said.
The proposed amendment backed by FIFA; will be voted on during the GFA’s Ordinary Congress on August 12, 2025, and could increase the maximum tenure from eight to 12 years.
Support for the change is growing among clubs, with many citing the need for continuity to complete long-term football projects and strengthen governance.
If passed, the amendment won’t automatically extend Okraku’s time in office, but it will allow him and future presidents to seek a third term.
