Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann has described Ghana as the ideal opposition as his side prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ahead of their international friendly against the Black Stars on March 30, 2026, in Stuttgart.
The friendly, scheduled to kick off at 20:45 GMT, forms part of both teams’ final preparations for the tournament to be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Speaking ahead of the match, Nagelsmann said Germany is eager for the challenge Ghana will provide.
“We are very much looking forward to the clash with Otto Addo’s team. Their strong transition play can give us a taste of what to expect in our World Cup group match against Ivory Coast,” he said.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama, with the Black Stars aiming to reach the knockout stage for the first time since 2010.
Germany, meanwhile, will compete in Group E with Ivory Coast, Ecuador and Curaçao.
The upcoming friendly will also renew memories of past World Cup meetings between the two nations, with Germany edging Ghana 1-0 in 2010 and the teams sharing a 2-2 draw in 2014.
