Morocco are expected to make a significant jump up FIFA’s world rankings after their performances at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Atlas Lions made history as the first African country ever to make the semi-finals of the global showpiece.
The North Africans started the tournament in 22nd spot but, after wins over Spain, Portugal Belgium and Canada, Morocco have collected enough points to end the tournament in 11th place, and could go even higher should they beat France to reach the final this week.
This will see them move above four-time winners Germany as well as Uruguay, Denmark, Mexico, and Poland.
No matter what transpires at the Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday, the current Morocco crop have already cemented their place in national and continental folklore.
