Monza Expected to Get Their First-Ever Serie A Point Against Udinese

After securing a place in the Italian top flight football for the first time ever, Monza are already desperate to earn a win in the league after a terrible start leaves them bottom of the table ahead of a meeting with Udinese at the Brianteo Stadium.

After two games in the 2022/23 Serie A season, there’s already been a quick reality check for the newly-promoted side and they are so far seriously struggling to adjust to life in the top flight after such a long wait.

Monza started their season with the hosting of Torino and two rapid goals for the away side gave them a 2-0 lead before Dany Mota netted with seconds to go.

This was the club’s first-ever Serie A goal, and despite it coming in the circumstances it did, it was a smart finish from Mota.

At the same time, with Monza seeing 55% of the ball that day while registering four shots on target from a total of 15 efforts, the club can shout a little after their Serie A debut.

Up next was Napoli for Giovanni Stroppa’s men, and a 4-0 demolition by the Naples side made it two losses in a row and sent out a worrying reminder about the step up in quality Monza faces this season after 40 years in Serie B.

Udinese, however, have once again started the season in poor form. The club has not won a game to this point and despite the expectation to beat Monza from the fans, it’s going to be far from an easy job.

Udinese did manage to take the lead against champions AC Milan at the San Siro on the opening weekend, but they quickly hit back with two goals and a 4-2 loss in the end and a goalless draw with Salernitana a week later meant just a point from the first six.

Udinese are already desperate for a win and Andrea Sottil’s place at the helm is already being questioned. This won’t be an easy game for them here either, with the Serie B playoff winners expected to turn up in some way.

Despite the terrible form for Monza so far, they are on home soil once again here where they made an almighty noise in the visit of Torino two weeks back.

At the same time, Udinese haven’t been that much better and Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals, with Monza expected to get their first Serie A point in history.
