Zapping World Eleven PSG: summary of Christophe Galtier’s first press conference

Yesterday, Barça and Sevilla FC formalized their agreement in principle for the transfer of Jules Koundé, for 55 million euros including bonus. A relief for supporters and managers Blaugranas, after an endless soap opera and a fierce battle with Chelsea to attract the French defender. Aware of the complexity of this file, the sporting director of Sevilla FC, Monchi, revealed behind the scenes of the transfer of Jules Koundé.

“Last Thursday we reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea. As everything was closed, there were doubts and at the weekend everything stopped. (…) Mateu Alemany contacted me for the first time on Monday,” Monchi first explained to the official Sevilla FC media, before concluding: “Barça appeared, Chelsea came back, but Barça’s offer was better. We decided to sell him to the club that offered the best conditions.”

On arrival, the Sevillian director therefore completed the biggest sale in the history of the Andalusian club and Barça offered themselves one of the best central defenders in Europe. Everyone is a winner, except Chelsea.
