Former Ghana international Mohammed Polo has called for Otto Addo’s resignation as Black Stars coach following the team’s disappointing performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Black Stars have failed to win any of their four matches, collecting just two points from a possible twelve, leaving their chances of qualifying for next year’s tournament in Morocco hanging by a thread.
Ghana’s struggles include a 1-0 loss to Angola in Kumasi, a 1-1 draw with Niger in Morocco, a goalless draw with Sudan in Accra, and a 2-0 defeat to Sudan in Libya.
“Based on what’s going on and what we’re seeing, if I were Otto Addo, I would have resigned by now,” Polo told Akoma FM.
Ghana must now secure victories against already-qualified Angola and Niger while hoping that Sudan falters against these same teams, in order to keep their AFCON qualification hopes alive.
The team will reconvene in November for the remaining qualification matches.
