Former Hearts of Oak player, Mohammed Polo, has expressed concern over the club’s decision to retain head coach Aboubakar Ouattara for the upcoming season.
Polo is strongly critical of Ouattara’s performance, particularly after the coach narrowly avoided relegation in the previous season.
Hearts of Oak secured their Premier League status with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Bechem United on the final day of the 2023/24 campaign.
“I’m baffled by the decision to keep Aboubakar Ouattara as head coach,” Polo told Oyerepa FM.
“He almost led the team to relegation, and I don’t believe he has anything meaningful to offer Accra Hearts of Oak.”
Hearts of Oak will open their 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season with a home game against debutant side, Basake Holy Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.
