Mohammed Kudus was on target for Ajax in their 1-1 stalemate with FC Volendam in the Eredivisie on Thursday night.
The Ghanaian international climbed off the bench to spare his team’s blushes in front of their home crowd.
The visitors took a 59th minute at the Johan Cruyff Arena through Mirani.
Kudus was brought on a minute later as replacement for Nigeria defender Calvin Bassey.
That change proved to be a masterstroke as he got the equalizer late in the game.
The 22 year old latched unto a sweet pass from Lorenzo Lucca before unleashing a shot straight into the bottom left corner.
The 80th minute strike was his sixth goal for Ajax in 17 league appearances this season.
