Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus has matched Andre Ayew’s UEFA Champions League record that was set in 2011.
Kudus was on target and provided an assist for the Dutch giants in their 4-0 win over Rangers in their group opener on Wednesday.
The talented playmaker becomes only the second to score and assist in a Champions League game since Dede Ayew achieved the feat with Marseille against Borussia Dortmund in 2011.
The former Right to Dream Academy trainee’s beautiful solo goal in the 33rd minute was his first ever goal in the glamorous club competition.
Mohammed Kudus, receiving the ball from former Ger Calvin Bassey, turned away from James Tavernier before driving forward and rifling a stunning rising drive past Jon McLaughlin and in off the inside of his left-hand post.
He was announced man of the match after the game by UEFA.
