Trabzonspor will officially present Mohamed Salah to their supporters at Papara Park on Thursday evening, only hours after the Egypt captain arrived in Turkey and completed the formalities of his move to the Turkish club.
The presentation ceremony is scheduled to begin at 19:30 local time, Trabzonspor said in an official statement. The club has called on supporters to attend wearing shirts from the new season as they prepare to “make history and take the first step in an unforgettable journey” alongside their new signing.
Salah completed his medical examination at Acibadem Maslak Hospital, Trabzonspor’s medical partner, before the club finalised his transfer.
The former Liverpool forward officially joined Trabzonspor on a free transfer on Wednesday after his contract with the Premier League club expired.
According to several Turkish media reports, Salah has agreed a two-year deal with Trabzonspor. The reports claim he will earn an annual salary of 17m euros, with additional bonuses and benefits included in the agreement.
The club had earlier asked supporters travelling to Trabzon Airport to avoid using private cars when gathering to welcome Salah, in an effort to prevent congestion. Fans were also urged not to set off large numbers of flares, with Trabzonspor warning that this could affect public safety and disrupt air traffic.
Trabzonspor’s announcement of the presentation comes as anticipation builds around Salah’s arrival, with the club inviting supporters to be part of what it described as a historic moment. The ceremony at Papara Park will provide the first opportunity for fans to see the Egypt international in the club’s colours following his arrival in Turkey.
Salah begins a new chapter after nine exceptional years at Liverpool. During his time at Anfield, he won a number of domestic, continental and global honours, while establishing a long list of individual records and achievements.
His Liverpool career made him one of the most prominent players in the history of the club and the Premier League. His departure followed the conclusion of his contract, bringing an end to a sustained period in which he became one of the defining figures of the English top flight.
