Mikel Arteta to sanction Arsenal exit of highly-rated Charlie Patino

Arsenal are said to be willing to allow Charlie Patino to leave the Premier League club this summer as Mikel Arteta has no plans to use the midfielder in the future.

The 20-year-old has been with the North London club since 2015 and has come through the club’s youth academy to play for the Arsenal senior team.

Patino was highly rated by those in the know at the Emirates Stadium and that increased further when the youngster scored on his debut against Sunderland in the Carabao Cup in 2021.

The midfielder has only featured one more time for the Premier League club since and is currently out on loan at Swansea, where he has not started a match since January 1.

According to The Standard, Mikel Arteta is willing to let Patino leave Arsenal this summer as the Gunners boss has no plans for him in the future.

Arsenal ready to part ways with Charlie Patino

Patino will have one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates at the end of the current season and Arsenal are looking to cash in rather than lose the youngster for free in 12 months.

The report says that a move abroad is very likely for the midfielder due to his style of play and the fact that he holds a Spanish passport.

Where the 20-year-old goes remains unknown and what type of clubs come in for the Arsenal star is also guesswork.

Whoever signs Patino is taking a risk as he is so young but there is undoubtedly talent there for his next manager to work with.
