Manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has confirmed Thomas Partey will be unavailable for Arsenal in January as the 2023 African Cup of Nations looms.
The midfielder returned to full training after suffering from a thigh injury ahead of the Gunners Champions League tie with Sevilla.
“We’re not going to have those two (Partey and Tomiyasu), then we have the suspension of Kai [Havertz], so I think we’re gonna have five out, but we have lots of other players willing to play,” Arteta said ahead of the game against West Ham.
Partey has been named in Ghana’s 55 man provisional list by Chris Hughton for the upcoming tournament in Ivory Coast.
The tournament is set to kick-off on 13th January to 11th February.
