Hearts of Oak are close to securing the signature of former Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso.
The former Villarreal midfielder is expected to join the Phobians on a short-term contract as the club strengthens their squad for the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
Wakaso has been without a club since parting ways with Chinese Super League side Shenzhen FC in January 2024.
He briefly returned to Shenzhen following a loan spell at Belgian side KAS Eupen, where he featured in 10 matches across all competitions before his departure.
The 34-year-old midfielder has played for several clubs across Europe and Asia, including Villarreal, Espanyol, Celtic FC, Deportivo Alaves, KAS Eupen, Granada, Las Palmas, and Rubin Kazan.
