Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is capable of sealing a place in the Ghana team for the 2022 World Cup.
The Anderlecht player, who has been in and out of the Black Stars squad in recent years, has not been named in the previous two call-ups by coach Addo.
Ashimeru has netted twice and assisted once in five matches in the Belgian top-flight.
Coach Addo is not ruling out selecting the 24-year-old for the Mundial.
“We are watching him and before the World Cup, anything can happen, but he is been unlucky for the past six months with his injuries.” The gaffer said.
“So I hope in any case that he will be spared from injury, and after that, who knows, he also has every chance of being part of the group that will play the 2022 World Cup. He is good at the moment, we are watching him.”
Ghana will land in Lorca, Spain ahead of the Nicaragua friendly on Tuesday.
