Agent of Michael Essien, Fabian Piveteau has confirmed Turkish club Trabzonspor has presented a bid to sign the Ghana midfielder.
The AC Milan star has been consistently linked to a January move away from the San Siro with the MLS mentioned as a likely destination.
Trabzonspor has also emerged as one of the suitors for the 32-year-old who existing deal at Milan expires at the end of next season.
Essien’s French agent Fabian Piveteau has now confirmed the registered interest of the Turkish club.
“Essien is a target of Premier clubs. We have received proposals from Turkish team Trabzonspor,†he said.
“In fact, we have also met several times about it. Essien is currently a Milan player, but it shows the future of what we do not know.â€
Essien joined Milan almost a year ago from English giants Chelsea.
