Ghanaian Legend Michael Essien has backed Ernest Nuamah’s move to French League one side Olympique Lyonnais.
He believes the Ligue 1 outfit will be a good platform for the youngster to hone his talent.
Nuamah is expected to seal the move on Wednesday after completing his medicals on Tuesday.
The French club agreed a record €30 million package (€25m fixed fee plus €5m add-ons) with Nordsjaelland to secure the services of the 19-year-old.
“It moved me from being a young player to a senior player at a big club, so, it helped me grow up and feature on the big stage,” said Essien in an interview, as quoted by 3 Sports.
“I think the set-up of the club as a whole and the longevity of the president [has helped]. There has been continuity and they also know how to develop good players.”
The move willl see Nuamah become the most expensive in the history of the whole of Scandinavia.
