Michael Baidoo’s impressive performance wasn’t enough to secure a win for Umm Salal as they lost 3-2 to Al-Arabi in the Qatar Stars League.
Baidoo gave Umm Salal an early lead with a cool finish from Oussama Tannane’s cross. Al-Arabi equalized just before halftime through Wassim Keddari’s header.
Tannane restored Umm Salal’s lead with a fine free-kick early in the second half, but Al-Arabi’s pressure paid off when Ahmed Doozandeh leveled the game.
In stoppage time, Jordan Veretout’s stunning free-kick sealed the win for Al-Arabi. Despite the defeat, Baidoo’s all-round display was notable.
Umm Salal now focus on their QSL Cup tie against Al Shamal on September 3.
